Tonbridge & Malling Borough Council is inviting residents, parish councils, community groups and other local organisations to take part in a consultation regarding its proposal to introduce a new Public Space Protection Order (PSPO) to tackle anti-social behaviour across the borough.
Each local authority is responsible for making a new PSPO for their district and for taking enforcement action against any breaches. In Tonbridge & Malling, we are considering introducing a PSPO to cover the public open spaces within the borough as well as some specific locations. These are all detailed within the proposal.
The PSPO will replace dog control orders, designated public place orders (known as Alcohol Control Zones) and gating orders which are all being phased out by the government. Once agreed the PSPO will be in place for three years. Fixed Penalty Notices (FPN) of £80 (or £50 if paid within 10 days) will be issued by the Council’s Enforcement Officers for any breaches of the PSPO.
The consultation period is now open until Wednesday 15 March.
The online survey is available at https://www.tmbc.gov.uk/pspo.
